DILKED Enters Production — Coming Early 2027
It's official: DILKED has entered production, with a release date of early 2027.
Set in Basildon in 2001, DILKED follows a fly-on-the-wall documentary crew through a season inside Bearded Clam Productions — the town's legendary adult entertainment studio — as the internet arrives to strangle the VHS empire of Britain's most confident pornographer.
From a converted floor above the shops on Felton Avenue, owner Barry Bobbins and his loyal, long-suffering company face the digital age one catastrophe at a time. A pilot and six episodes chart the year everything changed: the dial-up, the disasters, the pantomime, and the phone call from Australia that Barry still describes as "a masterstroke."
A world you may already know
DILKED is the second show in the '…ilked' universe, sharing its Essex map — and the occasional cab — with BILKED. Longtime viewers should keep an eye on the A127. Some journeys connect.
What happens next
Over the coming months we'll be introducing the company — the office, the talent, the freelancers, and the street that has to live next to them — along with a proper tour of the Bearded Clam back catalogue, from A Fistful of Doreen (1981) to the night the internet met the pantomime. Follow along here and on our socials. The booking, as ever, said badminton.
